Do not eat while the anaesthetic is still active, as you may bite your cheek, lip or tongue. On the day of the procedure, avoid vigorous rinsing, drinking through a straw and smoking, because suction may dislodge the blood clot.<\/p>\n<h2>What should you eat and drink?<\/h2>\n<p>During the first few days, choose soft, cool or lukewarm foods such as yoghurt, pur\u00e9e, porridge or lukewarm soup. Chew on the opposite side when possible and drink enough water.<\/p>\n<h2>What should you avoid?<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Very hot, hard, sharp or spicy foods.<\/li>\n<li>Seeds, nuts and small particles that may enter the wound.<\/li>\n<li>Alcohol and smoking while the wound heals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Return gradually to your normal diet according to how you feel and your dentist\u2019s instructions.
